The Board of Directors for PAPA met in special session today, all members remotely, with 2 items on the agenda:

  • The standing of Dale Wilson with the organization after a vote of no confidence 2 weeks ago
  • Strategic Planning Session

Each member of the board was in attendance with the exception of Keith Vance (Excused/Work) and Dale Wilson (Unexcused). Evidence from the previous meeting was once again introduced, as well as any new evidence available. In the end, Dale Wilson was voted off the Board of Directors by a unanimous vote from the sitting members.

The Strategic Planning Session involved each member in attendance giving their opinion of where they feel PAPA needs to be in a year from now. The meeting will be continued at a later date.

This is a big week for PAPA and the community it serves. As of last week, we added new equipment and software to the station. So what does that mean for everyone?

  • This week, Channel 21 will be going LIVE 24/7 on our website, and social media platforms.
  • We will continue to bring live support meetings from our local governments to social media in order to keep everyone updated

What else are we doing this week? Well, as of today, PAPA Memberships become FREE until January 1st 2021! What does this mean for you? Everyone who is a member of PAPA has the right to create and air their own TV Shows! We are officially Syndicated, which means that other networks could pick your show up! Do you have your own camera? A smartphone or tablet that can record in 1080p does count! Do you want to make a cooking show, talk show, or other show from home? Do it! Then we will take that footage, edit it (if needed), and clean it up for you before broadcasting it! There are 2 main guidelines for public television that needs to be followed: No major swear words, and no nudity. Other than that, film away and have fun doing it!

At this time, we are currently limiting the amount of people at the station itself until the COVID-19 situation passes. However, once it does, you will have access to the studio space at PAPA if needed (Reservations for the space needed). So, during this time you could start your own show from home, then bring it into an actual TV Studio environment once the pandemic has passed!

MAJOR RENOVATIONS @ PAPA STUDIOS UNDERWAY

After signing a 10-year lease with the City of Port Angeles and receiving a grant to upgrade the building roof/infrastructure, Peninsula Area Public Access has begun work on modernizing our facilities.  This will result in the temporary closure of our 215 S. Lincoln St. location from June 2018 until further notice.  However, the PAPA team is keeping the broadcasting working, and maintains the website with new shows!
